A Study on the Effect of optician¡¯s Emotional Intelligence on Working Mindset and Turnover Intention -Focused on opticians working at A optical chain stores-

Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this research is to review the relationship between emotional intelligences and the member attitude variables such as job satisfaction and organization commitment targeting opticians working at A optical chain stores. Additionally we have investigated the relationship between emotional intelligences and turnover intention.

Method: In the pursuit of this purpose, this study conducted a survey targeting opticians working at A optical chain stores from July to October 2013 and used 455 valid surveys for final analyzing study, excluding unfaithful surveys among all of the 500 surveys.

Results: The results of this study are as follows. First, when the relationships between emotional intelligences and job satisfaction of the opticians were examined, the result showed that emotional intelligence on subordinate¡¯s self emotional appraisal and use of emotion had positive influences on job satisfaction. Second, when the relationships between emotional intelligences and organization commitment of the opticians were examined, the result showed that emotional appraisal and use of emotion had positive influences on organization commitment Third, when the relationships between emotional intelligences and turnover intentions of the opticians were examined, the result showed that emotional intelligence on subordinate¡¯s self emotional appraisal had positive influences on turnover intentions.

Conclusion: According to the result, opticians who know exactly how they feel and express their emotions tend to think more positively about their job, understand customers¡¯ needs, and provide to service. In addition, optical chain store head offices should take interest in opticians¡¯ emotions continuously and develop various programs about emotions to change the attitude of the members. People are not born with specific emotional intelligence and they can develop it so we should try to provide proper system in which opticians can share emotions positively to apply this emotional intelligence in everyday working situations.
